Building a Health Care System That Works:
The Cost Containment Committee
The road to real health care reform in our country has many on-ramps.
One place for us to take a stand for the health of working people is on our SEIU Healthcare Cost Containment Committee.
We met with hospital management from across the Twin Cities in May and are trying hard to find real answers, not band-aids that continue to put the blame for health care costs at the feet of workers.
We are serious about finding solutions that move us to a new place in the debate about health care in this state and country.
Our work as a Cost Containment Committee is just one part of our union’s larger plan to build healthy workers and healthy communities. Another part is talking to your steward about how the health plan effects you personally. We all need to share our stories and organize around them to be heard.
