EMPLOYER REFUSES TO MEET THE COST CONTAINMENT COMMITTEE

"Were we getting close to achieving real healthcare cost savings?  What are they hiding from us?"

Taking Bold Steps to a Brighter Future

Pension Benefits Increasing

The Future Service Benefit Credit has been increased from $26.00 per year to $27.00, effective January 1, 2007.
This means that when we retire, our benefit checks will increase by $1 for every full year of service. “This increase takes us closer to our goal to make sure everybody who works hard can retire with dignity,” said Julie Schnell, President of SEIU Local 113.

Contract Enforcement

For too many years, we have allowed management to dictate how our contract will be interpreted. In the past months, we have been reclaiming our responsibility to enforce the contract to ensure workers and patients are thriving.

Together as a union, we are working to restore a culture of accountability and respect at North Memorial Health Care. This work is often difficult, but it is the right work. When each of us makes sure that our hard-fought contract is enforced around us, we are taking a stand for justice.

We ALL have a role to play in making NMHC a safe and respectful place to come to work, and our work together as a union can make that happen.
